A Note About Our Application Process

The American Blue Lacy mailing list is used to make announcements regarding planned litters, whelped litters, and available puppies. We'll also use it to occasionally announce puppies which other breeders we respect have available. It is very low volume, and you are welcome to unsubscribe at any time - say, for example, if you find a puppy from another breeder. After a Blue Lacy litter is born the first step is sending out information on our mailing list. Next we start going down the puppy waiting list contacting people.

We also use the Blue Lacy mailing list to send pictures so you'll have a visual record of the puppy's every step along the way: when they're born, before their eyes open, after their eyes open, etc. We'll post video on the web site on the litter page so visit often.

We have adopted this method of puppy placements because we're worried that our time constraints are causing us to miss wonderful homes, but mostly because requests might get lost in the shuffle. We also are hesitant to contact people who have submitted applications months or even a year beforehand. Since we don't breed dogs for a living, keeping track of all of the applications we receive has become a bit difficult and we're worried our puppies might be missing some fantastic homes. We want to make sure that anyone interested in a puppy from us is aware when we have pups available. We hope this new process will make that more possible.

I've found the best way to make sure great homes don't get lost in the shuffle is to have everyone just add themselves to the mailing list and then I add you to the puppy list myself. Both forms go to the Blue Lacy mailing list which you need to be sure to confirm subscription to. You will hear from me within a day or two after you confirm your subscription. If you don't please e-mail me to be sure I received.

The ABLA is working in concert with owners, breeders, additional canine organizations, and many others to maintain the genetic health of the Blue Lacy (by breeding for the betterment of the breed), provide accurate information about the breed through education, as well as assist owners and breeders facing challenges which come along with sharing life with a working Blue Lacy. The ABLA is also devoted to the purpose of locating suitable homes and assisting the placement of rescue or re-homing Blue Lacys.  The ultimate goal of the ABLA is to see that the integrity, honor, and standard of the American Blue Lacy remains beyond reproach and is accepted in to the registry of the American Kennel Club. If you agree that this is a breed worth saving please join us at ABLA
